Connected Search lets Octonous search the tools you already use, including Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack. Some sources are indexed, so results can appear quickly. Slack is searched on demand.
How to turn it on
1. Go to App Connections.
2. Open the app you want to use with Connected Search.
3. Turn on Connected Search for the account you want Octonous to search.
4. Complete the provider authorization flow if Octonous asks for updated permissions.
5. Go to Connected Search from the sidebar to search across your connected sources.
If an app has more than one connected account, you can turn Connected Search on or off for each account separately.
What gets stored
For indexed search sources, Octonous stores entity information such as titles, snippets, URLs, and metadata in an encrypted manner.
Turning Connected Search off deletes the indexed records for that account.
Slack is searched on demand, and messages are not stored.
How results are used
Search results can appear in the Connected Search page and in chat when you ask Octonous to search your connected apps. You can preview results, open the original source, or attach selected results to a task.
Turning it off
Go to App Connections, open the app, and turn Connected Search off for the account. This removes the indexed records for that account. It does not disconnect the app itself.
To remove the app connection entirely, disconnect the app from App Connections.
