My automation isn't triggering: what's wrong?

The most common reasons an automation stops firing, with steps to diagnose and fix each one.

Start here before contacting support.

1. The automation isn't enabled: Check the automation in the sidebar. If the schedule or trigger is disabled, enable it.

2. Your budget is exhausted: Go to Usage. If your budget is used up, scheduled and triggered automations pause automatically. Upgrade or wait for the reset.

3. The trigger filter is too restrictive: The event may be happening but not matching your filter. Broaden the conditions in "When to run" and test again.

4. Polling triggers have a delay: Triggers like Gmail, Notion, and Google Drive check every 5 minutes. If the event just happened, wait a few minutes.

5. The integration disconnected: Go to App Connections and check for a warning. Reconnect if needed. Triggered automations can't fire if the OAuth token expired.

6. The event happened before activation: Event-based triggers only listen from the moment you activate. Anything before that won't be caught.

7. The timezone is off: Check the timezone setting in the automation.
